Trust not in worldly riches

Trust not in worldly fame

They are but empty wishes

Not yielding any gain

Trust in the Lord's riches

Trust in His Holy Name

Treasure what He treasures

And there shall be much gain

Matthew 6:19-21

Treasure in Heaven

19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Note:

The things on earth are not long-lasting. They are temporary. They can be destroyed or stolen. When we leave earth (physical realm), there is nothing that we can bring with us into the spiritual realm (heaven). So, we should focus on laying up treasures that will last forever in the spiritual realm (heaven) where we will live in eternity forever. We should not place our trust in the worldly riches but instead trust in the Lord God Almighty who is the creator of heaven and earth. We should treasure (value highly) what God treasures (values highly) because that is what is really important in life e.g. righteousness, holiness, faith, love, obedience, etc. Therefore, we should obey God's written Word in the Bible, and by doing so we will indeed be blessed and rewarded (receive our treasure in heaven).
